Lead is an element but most of the time, when lead is used in a product, it appears as a compound. For example, PbCO3 which is a compound found in paint. Lead is also used as pipes because of its corrosion revision and flexibility. These pipes are used for plumbing which as of recent, has become a major concern especially in old buildings. If someone is to turn on the faucet in their house, the water that they are about to drink in contaminated with lead and they have a high chance of getting lead poisoning.
