Any houses made before this date will most likely contain lead dust. But it is not the paint that is the problem. it is the deterioration of the paint that cause children, especially toddlers that crawl to inhale the dust.
To prevent lead poisoning you should always check when the house was made if you are moving. Wash your childrens' hands and toys and block playing areas form lead infested areas. Make sure to wet-mop floors and wet-wipe window components regularly.

The first thing that you can do in treating all degrees of lead poisoning is to get rid of the place where it is contaminated. You can use Chelation Therapy for children. In this it binds the lead sp that it comes out in your urin. You can also use EDTA therapy for lead leves greater than 45mcg/dl levels of lead poisoning. They inject ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid into their blood and depending on your level you may need more than one treatment. If your case is extreamly severe if may be imposible to reverse it.
